Lakes Grammar – An Anglican School has become the first school in New South Wales to gain standalone recognition as a Cambridge International School for the Cambridge Primary program. Following a recent accreditation visit by Cambridge International Examinations, the school will offer its Junior School students the Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives program as part of the curriculum from 2020 onwards. Students will enjoy the opportunity to engage in learning challenges or projects as a component of our History, Geography and Science curriculum areas, deepening their learning in STEM. The Global Perspectives program will also further develop our students’ skills in the areas of research, analysis, evaluation, reflection, collaboration and communication.
We are conscious that our students of today are engaging with a rapidly changing, globally connected workplace – thus Cambridge will develop their international perspectives, while also developing valuable skills including confidence in working with information and ideas – their own and those of others, self-responsibility, responsiveness to and respectful of others, reflectiveness, a deeper overall capacity to learn and a sense of innovation. We are excited about the way in which we can equip our students for new and future challenges and engage them in their learning both intellectually and socially, ready to make a difference to our world.
Cambridge Primary develops skills in ten subjects including English, Mathematics and Science. The curriculum is flexible with clear learning objectives for each subject.
