Choosing a Career pathway can be daunting, however, at Lakes Grammar we assist with the decision-making process by having careers sessions and multiple career fairs’ including one that is held onsite, for Years 10-12 that increase students’ exposure to potential career pathways.
Year 10 students visit the University of Newcastle on a career visit day; furthermore, they are provided with opportunities throughout the year to explore their personal strengths, interests and passions to choose a career path as well as developing practical skills like designing a resume and how to perform in a group interview.
Year 11 and Year 12 studentsare able to meet with the careers team (careers adviser, deputy principal and head of teaching and learning) to develop a strategic pathway and be provided guidance to help achieve their career goals.
Our team, which includes a dedicated career adviser, offer a number of programs to support all of our students to develop their own personal agency and to fulfil their post-school goals and aspirations.
