Diluk Adikarimudiyanselage and Liam Lightfoot have today claimed victory in the Final of 101.3SeaFM's Battle of the Schools and won for Lakes Grammar $10,000. The boys won a heat, semi-final and today's final against St Patrick's Catholic School, East Gosford to win the huge cash prize thanks which was all made possible thanks to Red Energy.
The boys have had a massive week having represented Lakes Grammar in a Debating semi-final in which they won for the affirmative team arguing that 'mobile phones should be banned in restaurants'. They have also participated in a Gifted and Talented Camp in Sydney and had to travel between the two to fulfill their commitments for Debating and Battle of the Schools.
These boys have represented Lakes Grammar with pride this week and are wonderful role models for our school community.
Whilst the prize money has not yet been finalised our Head of Junior School, Mr William Wallace would love to see some of it go towards a new STEM facility that is currently being scoped out as this would be a wonderful addition to our already extensive Junior School offering.
