Years 7-8
Prosper Program
The Prosper program aims to consolidate the skills, knowledge and understandings students have gained in key subject areas prior to their transition to senior school. Students move away from a homeroom teacher and have specialist teachers. English and mathematics classes are graded based on students’ achievements.
Students in Year 7 participate in a technology program, further developing their coding skills and learn how to use 2D and 3D design software, while in Year 8 students are introduced to engineering, agriculture and food technology. In Year 8 students have the opportunity to choose an elective to study.
The independent learning class continues to be a key part of the middle school program. They will focus on producing a major project and continue to learn skills to become confident, resilient, and self-directed learners through the learning dispositions.
The Prosper program begins to teach students the key study and organisational skills, and increases students’ responsibility to set academic and personal goals.
